Wedding Venue: Nantucket Kitchen & Bar

We were honoured to host Megan and Jamie’s wedding at our Brisbane wedding venue in 2016. The NKB function staff crafted a stand-up canapé function for the couple’s special day, treating 116 guests to a range of hot and cold finger food, small meals, and a beverage package.
Wedding Styling & Theming
With exclusive use of the entire venue booked for the wedding, crisp and elegant interiors boasted arrangements of greenery and stylish table cloths coated in bright green leaves. In order to craft a more open-air style, the traditional wooden tabletops were removed from the dining room and replaced with one main table setting, leaving guests free to mingle throughout the room or find seating in one of the intimate booths.

Wedding Reception: Cocktails & Canapes
Upon the guests’ arrival to the wedding reception at 5pm, a range of hot and cold canapes started circling the room. Nantucket’s famous Cape Cod flavours surfaced in cold servings of duck liver parfait and quince macarons, parmesan shortbread with horseradish and serrano ham, corn bread, and tomato and basil consommé with fennel tuile. Nantucket’s hot canapes included five spiced quail legs with fig vincotto, sunchoke tart with olive and goat’s curd, prawn cutlets with sauce tartare, and NKB crab cakes with citrus mayo.
Guests enjoyed dancing and live entertainment at our Brisbane wedding venue.
Wedding Reception: Wining & Dining
The happy couple arrived at the wedding reception venue at 5.30pm, with photos taken outside by Morgan Roberts Photography and the on-site entertainment. In addition to the range of canapés on offer, mini meals of grilled peach, rocket, walnut, buffalo and vincotto salad, sand crab orecchiette with chilli, fennel and lemon, and pulled pork sliders with blue cheese sauce ensured that guests’ appetites were well catered to.
The Wedding Cake
After a festive reception, the night concluded with Megan and Jamie cutting into their pavlova wedding cake, with an additional dessert bar provided to treat guests before drawing the night to a close. Selections of chocolate caramel slice, lemon curd tartlets, almond blondies and vanilla and coconut macarons ended the night on a sweet note.
We were delighted to host this memorable wedding and wish Megan and Jamie all the best with their future endevours.
